LEONARD, Claire
(June 17, 1938 – January 23, 2016) - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Claire Leonard after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer surrounded by her family and friends. Wife of the late Gerald Leonard. Loving mother of Sheila Dauphin (Jim), Sheila Miguel (Julio), David Leonard (Yvette), Lorraine Varcoe (Dennis) and Jody Leonard. Loving grandmother of Michael Morrar, David Belliveau, Daina Longley, Adam Miguel, Jacob Leonard, Steven Leonard, Jessie Goheen, Ashley Degregorio, Jarritt Varcoe, Tristan Leonard, Kaiden Leonard and Bryana Leonard. Loving great grandmother of 16 and special nanny to many. Loving sister of Rita Borgford (Bud), Eva King (Don), Ronnie Carrierre (Faye), Barb Uskali (late Wayne). Joe Carrierre (Sharon) and the late Arthur Carrierre. Loving daughter of the late Arthur and Yvonne Carrierre. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and special friend to many. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at East Korah Maxwell United Church (4 Fourth Line East at the corner of Peoples Rd and Fourth Line) at 11:00am with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Interment and a reception to follow. The family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at the SAH ICU Department. Memorial donations in Claire’s memory can be made directly to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
