Obituary for Gerald Hector Leonard
LEONARD, Gerald H.
MARCH 4, 1941-SEPTEMBER 19, 2015:
With his family by his side, Gerry took his journey home to heaven where he was greeted by his parents and the many friends that braised the trail ahead of him. Never was there a more loyal and proud man to be found. A father, doting Papa, great grandfather, uncle, loving brother and loyal friend, but most notably as the adoring strong, devoted husband to his best friend and wife Claire, who stood proudly by his side for 41 memorable years. His smile you could not take away no matter what challenges bestowed him as he always found the will to seek out the positive from any situation. Handing him to God are his children Sheila (Jimmy), Sheila Ann (Julio), Chris (Cathy), David (Yvette), Jimmy, Terry, Loraine (Dennis) and Jody (Dawn), along with Roseanne and Scott, as he treated as his own. The many grandchildren and great grandchildren will forever carry on and live jubilantly within each memory he gave to them. As per Gerry’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family would like to extend an invitation to all friends to come and unite in a Celebration of Gerry’s Life on Saturday September 26, 2015 at 3:00pm at Hard Times Bar & Grill, 652 Wallace Terrace. Friends are invited to join the family for Gerry’s interment, Monday September 28, 2015, 2:00pm, meeting at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
