Obituary for Joan Edna Leclair (Haitse)
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Sault Area Hospital. Survived by her beloved Husband Joseph of almost 70 years. Wonderful Mom to John Leclair of Cambridge, Ontario, Diane Hogan (Michael) of Calgary, Alberta and Cheryl Gimpel (Charlie) of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. Adored grandmother to Danielle (Andy) of Breslau, Ontario, Dustin and Lindsay (Jarrett) of Calgary, Alberta, and Carley (Dan) of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, Chelsea (Derek) of Bellaire, Michigan and Nicole (Graham) of Cambridge, Ontario. Special great grandmother to Charlie and Collins Cryderman of Bellaire, Michigan.
Predeceased by her parents Mabel and John Haitse of Little Current, Ontario. Reunited with her sister and best friend, Beverly Laidley (Al) of Little Current, Ontario
Special Aunt to many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family who faithfully remembered her on special occasions and made her feel so special.
She loved her family deeply and was proud of all of them. She fought a long hard battle for years and finally did not have any fight left. We will cherish the good times and there will be lots of tales and stories of the "good ole days", especially the Manitoulin connection and we can not thank you enough for giving us those memories.
Please remember her often as she thought of all of you who were close to her often.
Cremation has taken place. As per mom’s request, there will be no services. She would be afraid that her hair wasn’t done right!
Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Cremation has taken place, a private family celebration will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Damignani Burial, Cremation and Transfer Service.
