Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday August 18, 2018 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of Joseph Opala (predeceased 2003). Loving Mother of Tanya Lee (Tim), Sonia Opala, Jay Opala, Mike Opala (Lisa), Rodney Opala (Gail), Frances Scheepmaker (John), Bill Boucher and Don Boucher (predeceased). She will be greatly missed by her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, some of which affectionately referred to her as their "Mukka". Mom will fondly be remembered for her love of baking, fabulous holiday dinners, especially her perogies, cabbage rolls and incredible bread. Her chicken rice soup and cheese biscuits were legendary. We are so thankful she happily shared her recipes. The door was always open and mom liked nothing more than people dropping in for a visit or a phone call to catch up on news. A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If so desired, donations in her memory can be made to the Sault Ste Marie Humane Society.
